Archos GamePad: Is This DOA?

Archos GamePad

Well then, Archos is certainly thinking outside the box with this GamePad device, depending on what side of the fence you’re standing on anyway. The tablet crowd can afford a gander or two because it is something completely new to that space. However, the gaming crowd knows this form factor well, its called the Vita!

Although its stacked with the latest 1.5 ghz quad core processor and some other hardware goodies, there is still one major grip I see this device falling victim to. If you make it look like a portable gaming system, its got to be a portable gaming system, not just act like one. Well, how do you become a portable gaming system? Games, tons of them. As it is now, Android is no where close to competing with the likes of something like the Vita or DS. If you ask me, this thing is DOA! Cute though….

This is DOA w/ a lot of "potential" to upset us... however, a lot of things NEED TO GO RIGHT... first of which, ANDROID as an OS need to be a force in this department to VALIDATE having an actual device... "OUYA" will need to make major waves & at $100 it will have ppl tinkering w/ the idea of playing with it... open source will make this attractive... Again... a lot of things need to line up correctly for this device & even the OUYA to succeed.
