iPhone 5 Now Rumored To Come With A 3.95 Inch Display (SMDH)

apple-iphone-5Before going on let me just say that the (SMHD) in the title doesn’t mean, “Superman’s Hi Definition”, or “Should Make Hi-Def”, or any of that none sense. It simply means, “Shaking My Damn Head”! Now then; moving right along. As we all know (cue in the horns) its that time again! This is the time of the year when Apple again show the world as we know it why there is no substitute for brain cells. Then again, what is a brain cell without the knowledge to input into one. #quagmire

So rumors have been flying around the world wide web as to the screen size of “The New iPhone” or “The iPhone 5”, or whatever its name will be. Some say the screen size will be 4.3. I feel like the simplest minded individual could shoot that one down because Apple doesn’t do anything that extreme. I mean lets be real here, the  screen size has been the same for about 5 years now. Next up in the “size matters” rumors was that the iPhone 5 display would be 4.00 inches. Hmmm now this seems like it could possibly happen, right??? I mean; it would fall right in line with most devices of today having between the 4 to 4.7 inch screen? Yes? Well this fact would just make too much sense for Apple and the rest of the world, and we all know that if apple is anything, they are not methodical. And now for the latest rumor, it seems that Pocketnow.com has some how infiltrated Apple with members of an elite black ops group, has gathered vital information about the iPhone 5, and has shared such info with us all. So the screen size is now slated to be 3.95 inches. If you guys are now hearing an odd cackle like laugh imitating from a distance; that would be me. Check out what Pocketnow had to say…

According to the most recent reports, Apple is testing at least two prototypes codenamed iPhone 5,1 and iPhone 5,2 (though the numbering might refer to color variants — black and white — as well as storage options). However, the interesting bit is that the screen on the “iPhone 5″ will not only be a larger one, measuring 3.95-inches (which is close to four), but it will be a widescreen display. The added height will also add more pixels to the “Retina” display with rumors talking about 640 x 1136 resolution (compared to the current 640 x 960).

This would of course create a shift in Apple’s ecosystem as currently all applications designed for the iPhone take advantage of the 1.5 pixel aspect ration which was present on all Apple smartphones from the very beginning. Switching to a 1.77 aspect ratio will require developers to add code to their applications since Apple couldn’t live with stretching the canvas or not filling the screen.

Adding to the rumors is the fact that, allegedly, iOS 6 will not only take advantage of the larger, widescreen, display, but it will also add an additional line of icons, for a total of 20 plus the four in the dock. Last but not least: the next iPhone will utilize the new dock connector (we heard about it back in February).

Now I personally detect a hint of last year’s iPhone 5…ummm no that’s not a “5” its actually an “S” foul play going on here. Really!!! Would 0.05 inches have made that much of a difference in the display? What is so crazy is, I don’t know who is more out of there mind, Apple for possibly considering a 3.95 inch display or Pocketnow.com for doing a right up and posting the rumor.

What I do know is Lifestyles Defined will keep you up to date on the “Tom Foolery” that will be playing out until the release of the upcoming iPhone.
