Kevin Durant On Fire At The EBC Tournament Rucker Park Harlem
No outdoor basketball court has attracted more basketball talent than Harlem’s Rucker Park.
Dr. J, Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson are just a few of the past and present stars who have played on the hallowed park on 155th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard.
On Monday night, Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant added his name to the list – and he did so in grand style, dropping 66 points in a show-stopping performance that had fans mobbing him on the court.
During the Entertainers Basketball Classic game, the reigning NBA scoring champ nailed 9 of 13 three-pointers, including five in a row that brought the house down (see video), the New York Post reported.
"I’ve always wanted to play at Rucker Park all my life," Durant told an emcee after his DC Power team beat the Sean Bell All-Stars, 99-93.
The 22-year-old Durant was just 2 points shy of the EBC scoring record of 68, set four years ago by street ball legend Steve Burtt Jr.
