Q & A Interview With DJ UPTOWN

1. Who or which are your mentors / fav dj’s

I don’t really have any mentors, I taught myself the art. I was heavily influenced and fascinated by many different
styles and cultures of music from jazzy, groovy, heavy tribal drums to individual sounds and samples I would hear out
even from walking on the street. I would say my fav producers/djs are ones that are heavily skilled both in the studio and live.
An artist such as Chuckie or Erick Morillo, I definitely appreciate a lot because they set the crowd on fire and just bring an insane amount of energy.

2. What’s your "go to track" when you are playin in the clubs

It changes every week to even days. I definitely have a playlist of set tracks of bangers and classic hits however I am
always surprised by new and upcoming tracks. I would say my ultimate to go track is the hard hitting heavy base line with a groovy
melodic feel to it. I love a nice kick sample because that is what sets the tone of the track and also having the proper elements all
lined up and put into place along with a harmonic mix is what I look for in my “go to track”

3. What is your dream venue or festival to play at

Ibiza. Anywhere lol

4. What are some of your upcoming projects/ tracks/ album?

Right now im focusing more on low key gigs. I like to make goals per season and there are times where I individually focus on production
and less performance and other times I do tend to pickup more gigs and touring dates therefore I get to spend less time in the studio, I am
constantly releasing bootlegs, remixes, and live recordings.
