NEW ERA “STARS & STRIPES” NEW CAPS FOR MEMORIAL DAY
New Era, the official on-field cap of Major League Baseball (MLB), announced that for the fifth consecutive year, every MLB club will be honoring America’s veterans by wearing “Stars & Stripes” caps on Memorial Day (May 28) and Independence Day (July 4) to support the Welcome Back Veterans fund (http://web.welcomebackveterans.org/index).
For the first time, New Era will venture away from the red, white & blue color schemes that have been a staple of the previous “Stars & Stripes” caps. This year, the caps will remain in each team’s official color, but a digital camouflage appliqué will fill the MLB logo on the front of the cap. This new look and feel is similar to modern day military uniforms.
“The Stars & Stripes program is one of the ventures I’m most proud of as it allows organizations, players and fans to honor the brave men and women who serve our country in a unique way,” said Christopher H. Koch, New Era CEO. “To mark the fifth anniversary of the program, we decided to make these caps even more different by adding camouflage color scheme to each of the logos.”
All caps will be available at www.neweracap.com and in Stadium shops with proceeds going to the Welcome Back Veterans fund.
