New Image Reveals HTC’s Rumored Proto Smartphone

If you removed the HTC logo you wouldn’t be able to tell this from the hundreds of other smart phones. Phone design has become so borrrrring.

Earlier this month, we heard about the HTC Proto — a supposed refresh of the company’s budget-oriented One V smartphone. Today, the device has re-emerged in a set of leaked press photos. As it stands, the device appears to have lost its unique chin styling that was apparent on the One V, opting for a more rounded and curvaceous look. Rumored specs include a 4-inch WVGA display, 5-megapixel shooter, and a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor all stuffed into a 9.62mm body.

As with anything unofficial, be sure to take this rumor with a hefty grain of salt. However, with IFA 2012 just around the corner, it’s entirely possible that we could see HTC introduce a new lineup of One devices. The event kicks off next week, and we’ll be bringing you the latest news.
