Nike: Foamposite 1 ‘Penny’ Galaxy Glow (Custom)
So how does one even begin to make 2012’s most wanted, most expensive and most attractive sneaker to be released even better than it already is? Sneaker customizer Jason Negron shows us how! Oh and just in case you need a little more clarification on what you are seeing, YES he did use LED light bulbs within the outer sole.
Here you have daytime shots of the now most popular sneaker to ever be released. (Arguably of course) You can’t really see to much of a change until you…(in my Usher voice), “Turn the lights off”!!!
Here is where the sneaker now comes alive! The star speckles that were once only represented by white paint on the original has now be re-done with glow-in-the-dark paint, along with the stitched Nike Swoosh on the fore-foot of the shoe. The outer sole seems to have been left intact, but within the outer sole you will find the use of tiny LED bulbs to add to the glowing effect. One would wonder, who on this planet as we know would want to butcher a shoe that has been known to have a resale value that exceeds $1000 simply for the sake of customization?? I guess I will put it to you like this, when you are as good as this, it becomes well worth it.
