Nintendo thinks COD players will love the Wii U- FAIL
Nintendo seemed to be a bit off their rocker lately. Bad enough they’re doing a “wii” again, meaning out the gate first and falling short in the hardware game. I don’t see that trick working twice because the casual gamer now knows what a Kinect is. But hold on, Nintendo goes further.
"You can imagine how a game like Call of Duty would work on the Wii U–the GamePad will allow you to declutter the TV and pull gaming items like maps down and not interrupt your interaction and enjoy the cinematic quality of the game on the TV."
What world does Nintendo live in? Unclutter my TV? I am a hardcore FPS shooter, and I will tell you this as a fact and not speculation. If you take your eyes away from your TV to look down at your controller, you will die, your K/D will suffer and you will suck! There isn’t much more to it. The fact that Nintendo does not understand this concept, coupled with the crippled hardware out the gate, lets me know they are not ready for the “core” gamer. But wait, theres more!
"The experience of playing these titles on the Xbox 360 and PS3 are relatively similar; what we showed is how you can reimagine game elements like maps and scanning features and bring them to life on the GamePad and make it a completely different experience to what it was on competing systems… The Wii U could become the preferred way to play those games for some of the core gamers."
Someone please tell Nintendo both Xbox 360 and PS3 are nearing their life cycle. Which mean, striving to measure up to aging tech is a huge mistake. Seems like the more they reveal their aspiration, the more doomed they start to look. Lets hope Nintendo pull it togeather, I’d hate to see another Sega in the world.
