Will the Nike MAG’s have Powered Laces in 2015?
The 2011 release of the Nike MAG was the epitome of life imitating art, Nike designer Tinker Hatfield was the brain child behind Nike releasing the Marty McFly high top sneakers from the 1989 cult classic “Back to the Future II”. Only 1,500 pairs were made and auctioned off on eBay; all of the proceeds were donated to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The shoes release was an ultimate success. However, they were missing a key design element from the film; Powered Laces and according to Hatfield they may not be missing form the 2015 release of the shoe. At the Jordan Brand’s Flight Lab space in New Orleans during All Star Weekend Tinker was asked if sneakers will be released with powered laces in the future and his answer was “Yes”.
“Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!” said Hatfield.
