Windows Phone making more revenue for developers than Android
No doubt this renewed interest in Microsoft’s
mobile platform is due to the big events awaiting it – the Mango update, with its 500+ new features, and the arrival of Nokia Windows Phones. There is one more thing, however, that might make developers more adamant to switch their mobile platform rails.
A case study about an app ad revenue reveals that the developer made more money off of Windows Phone than Android. For the Mortal Combat Tactics free ad-supported app, they raked in the grand total of $1.27 in revenue for five days, whereas the same app in the Marketplace brought four times the ad impressions, and $14.77 in cash.
Granted, this will probably change when the apps for Windows Phone grow in number, and it will be hard to gain such visibility, but for now the early adopters of the platform in the developers’ community seem to be doing well.
no surprise here, this was always the promise of a new platform no matter what is was.
